How do digital / physical purchases count towards sales and the Billboard charts?
Physical: Pre-order the album via Amazon or official BigHit USA site.

-
Purchases of the physical copy (1 version) count towards Billboard 200 = 1 album sale
-
Purchases of more than one version (e.g. 4 versions) count towards Billboard 200 = 4 album sales

Digital: e.g. digital purchases through iTunes / Google Play Music / Amazon Music / Medianet / 7digital / CD universe / Onkyo music

-
10 title-track (Boy With Luv) purchases = 1 album sale = Counts towards Billboard 200 + Billboard Hot 100
-
1 title-track (Boy With Luv) purchase = 1 single sale = Counts towards Billboard Hot 100

So what is the best method, which helps purchases count towards both the Billboard 200 & Hot 100 chart?

Method 1: Favors both BB200 & BBH100
-
Buy all 7 tracks from 'Persona' separately
-
Purchase the title-track, Boy With Luv, x3 again on another iTunes account/s or platforms e.g. Google Play + Amazon

Buying 'Boy With Luv' on 3 other platforms aside from buying the 7 individual tracks increases song sales + accounts for Billboard Hot 100 AND completes the 10 (7+3) track sales required for one album sale for Billboard 200.

Feel free to purchase the title track more than 3x if you are able to afford it.

NOTE: When purchasing, if you click 'complete the album' (iTunes) it would only count as an album sale and will not count towards song purchases = meaning it would only count towards Billboard 200 but not Billboard Hot 100.

Method 2: Favors BB200, but does not favor BBH100 as much as Method 1
-
Buy the full album on one platform e.g. iTunes (=BB200)
-
Buy the title track again x3 on via other accounts or another platform e.g. Google Play, Amazon (=BBH100)

SUMMARY:
Method 1, most beneficial: Buying songs separately (7 songs) + x3 Boy With Luv purchases on separate accounts/platforms = 1 album sale Billboard 200 & 4 Boy With Luv sales for Billboard Hot 100.
Method 2, less favored: Completing the album + x3 Boy With Luv purchases on separate accounts/platforms = 1 album sale for Billboard 200 & 3 Boy With Luv sales for Billboard Hot 100. The 'Boy With Luv' purchase from the completed album does not count towards the Hot 100.

Method 1 is favored because: By purchasing each track separately, it gives other tracks in Persona a higher chance of entering Hot 100 or Bubbling Under Hot 100. Meanwhile, multiple purhcases for the title-track ensure a high Hot 100 debut. In summary, buying the 7 tracks separately then buying the title-track x3 on other accounts/platforms will count towards both Billboard Hot 100 & Billboard 200.

You can buy BOTH the title track and full album separately without the "Complete My Album" obstacle. It will count as separate purchases when reported to Nielsen.
It will help with ALL charts, including Digital Albums, one chart BTS has YET to get a no.1, because not enough full albums were purchased.
ONLY buying tracks separately on all platforms is a risk to album charts including Billboard 200; buying separately on several platforms + 1 full album on one platform WILL help.
10 tracks = 1 Track-Equivalent Album (TEA.) It will only count 7/10ths since Persona has 7 tracks. 3 more songs are needed on a different platform to equal up to TEA, making that platform only 4/10ths of an album, then the next 3/10th of an album, and so on.
MediaNet is the cheapest option to buy BOTH the title track and the album. For example:
Answer = $9.99 on MediaNet, $17.98 on Amazon Music, $17.99 on iTunes, and $21.49 on Google Play Music.
1 song = $.99 on MediaNet compared to $1.29 on several platforms.
MediaNet would be a game-changer if ARMY utilizes it fully to not only buy the title track, but the album too, helping them for the Hot 100, Billboard 200, Digital Albums, and as well as ALL other Billboard music charts. You can buy the songs first (do NOT select 'Get the entire album and save...') and then the full album as a separate purchase. You don't need to create an account to make a purchase.
