BTS ON ITUNES/APPLE MUSIC

How, Where & What to buy/stream via Apple Music & iTunes?

Apple Music is a music streaming service whereas iTunes is a music buying service by Apple - available on their devices.

iTunes rankings are determined by the number of purchases for the title track / album in a country - arranging the two into two charts. Apple Music has also introduced Global & Country charts - determined by the number of streams for a song.

<MAP OF THE SOUL: 7> iTunes / Apple Music goals:

  • #1 single in 90 countries (iTunes)

  • Achieve 95-100 #1s for album (iTunes)

  • Enter Top 10 of Global Apple Music chart with title-track + Top 100 with side-tracks

  • Maintain in Top 30-50 of Apple Music charts by country

  • Make a personal goal to stream the title-track regularly on Apple Music

  • USA/CANADA/UK: Buy the title-track separately to the album on iTunes to ensure the title-track can chart too / Sales for the title-track will count towards singles charts (e.g. Billboard Hot 100)

NOTICE FOR USA + CANADA + UK:

  • Buy tracks separately (UK: Buy title track, complete album)

  • Gifting the title-track does not count towards the charts

  • To ensure your Apple Music streams count, delete the song from your library after purchasing. Make sure the + sign is visible when streaming the song after removing it from your library.

  • Buying the title track x10 = 1 album sale

  • Subscription based streams will weigh more on charts over free streaming accounts

GERMANY: Only paid / subscription based streams will count towards official charts
